Recently we've had some insane wins for cycling
Auckland Council increased their funding for cycle spending. The Government allocated 100 Million to urban cycle infrastructure. And after all our hard work campaigning for Separated Cycleways on Karangahape Road, Auckland Transport have decided to trial a separated cycleway right where we wanted it, some time in the next 12 months.
To Celebrate, we're organising for 100s of people to ride down Karangahape road, all in a row, all wearing white and all at once. It will both show the support for these steps forwards for cycling while also symbolising the white line of a cycleway.
Join us at 10.30am. We'll head off from the corner of ponsonby and Karangahape road, down ponsonby road, and back down Karangahape road.
Following the event there'll be speeches from local cycling advocates as well as a market place in St Kevin's Arcade full of cycling accessories and some food.
