Because Buses finishing before 12am is unacceptable for a city where “the show never stops”.
At the moment regular route coverage becomes inconsistent and unreliable after the sun goes down, and there are only eleven Night Rider buses with confusing routes and numbers to service the entire city after midnight. The new network doesn’t address this problem either and that’s simply unacceptable.
What we want is consistency. No special routes or strange timetables. Just your regular bus on its regular route at regular times. The Northern Express bus runs from the city every 15 minutes until midnight on weekdays, and every half hour until 3am on weekends, and is enormously popular. We know this might not be possible on every route, but on main lines it’s the least we can ask for.
