Our local governments are a crucial player in tackling the climate crisis and building a just future. For the 2022 Local Body Elections our campaign vision is to have as many climate justice oriented councillors that reflect their community elected, to have accessible voting so that all communities can easily vote and have accessible information on candidates.

We lobbied our councils for more accessible elections, collaborating and connecting with others to empower people to vote, and creating scorecards to measure how good various candidates are for our councils. You can check out our campaign over on our campaign website localelections.nz

We mobilised young people across the country to get engaged in their local elections through panels with candidates, quizzes and a Get out to Vote Gig in Pōneke!
